I was born in A Coruña in July 1984 and at 21 years of age, having completed my studies in Public Relations, decided to establish myself in London, a city which has taught me the significance of independence, tolerance, respect and diversity.
Although I have focused my career in the restaurant industry, when I first arrived in London I combined my English classes with low-responsibility jobs which enabled me to concentrate on learning the language and at the same time permitting me a relative degree of economic independence. After a few months of doing a bit of everything, the opportunity arose to start working in the Events department of the County Hall hotel, part of the Marriott hotel chain, where I gained invaluable learning experiences.
Two years later I left the Events department to form part of the team at About Thyme, a local restaurant with a lot of charm and an informal atmosphere. It was here that, as well as develop and advance my career in the restaurant industry, the idea was born to create in2London…

José Prego
I was born in Santiago de Compostela in 1979 and spent my childhood in Switzerland and part of my adolescence in Spain. My grasp of languages, my childhood abroad and my life in London have taught me to understand and appreciate the peculiarities and customs of different cultures. I have also developed the capacity to adapt easily to any particular circumstance or situation.
In 1999 my love of travel brought me to hunt for fame and fortune in London. I have left the city on various occasions, either to work and travel at the same time or even to settle down for a period in Spain, but I have always felt the need to return to the vanguard and hustle and bustle of London.
My professional career has always been linked to the world of Catering and it was my satisfaction for a job well done and my keenness to push myself that led me to work in various well-known establishments where I worked my way up to posts such as Maître D’. In 2006, as Manager, I began supervising the general functioning of About Thyme, a position that requires a great degree of responsibility and dedication.
